■Summary of this Meeting
As a member of “Advisory Panel for Promotion of ICT in Healthcare Field”, Prof. Hiroaki Miyata contributed towards the writing of “Advisory Panel for Promotion of ICT in Healthcare Field Report” which was published in October 2016.
The report clarified the action plan and the schedule to construct “Next Generation Healthcare System” with ICT.
Prof. Miyata will talk about the process that took place to formulate the report and its contents.
This meeting will also cover Medical Specialists System and National Clinical Database (NCD) from the perspective of utilization and analysis of database and big data with the collaboration of academic societies.

■About Prof. Hiroaki Miyata
Dr. Hiroaki Miyata is a Professor of Health Policy and Management at the School of Medicine at Keio University, and is a Director of Global Health Systems and Innovation at National Center of Global Health and Medicine. After receiving his doctoral degree in Epidemiology, he has worked as a faculty in the Department of Healthcare Quality Assessment at the Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo which he currently remains affiliated to as a Professor. He has been involved in numerous studies related to the assessment and improvement of healthcare quality in Japan using the national clinical database which is a nationwide clinical registry database that he had actively participated as one of the main leaders in its development.
